The company is now seeking a dynamic, passionate and experienced CFO. Working alongside the CEO, the CFO will lead the company’s strategic and daily financial and administrative activities. An immediate focus will be on raising additional investor funds. The CFO will also be a key member of the company’s leadership, assisting in overall company stewardship.

CFO Profile
The CFO is responsible for the company’s financial and administrative tasks, including Human Resource (“HR”) administration. She/he partners with other members of leadership and across the company to ensure operational excellence and rigorous governance in all that the company undertakes.

Responsibilities
the CFO has five primary areas of responsibility:
  1. Financial Operations: Accountable for all financial operations and reporting
  2. Corporate Governance: Ensure complete compliance and governance
  3. Financing: Support the fundraising process (dilutve & non-dilutve)
  4. Administration: Oversee and lead all administrative operations
  5. Talent: Oversee the execution of HR functions and activities
1) Financial Operations
  • Lead the development of an integrated, multi-year financial plan with the CEO
  • Set and manage the company’s quarterly and annual budget in conjunction with the CEO
  • Report financial status to the CEO and Board, integrating feedback and guidance
  • Maintain proper and effective bookkeeping and all payment procedures
  • Participate in all company strategy setting and development
2) Corporate Governance
  • Build and maintain all necessary compliance systems
  • Initiate and execute annual audit on finance and critical operations
  • Ensure execution against all Board and Shareholder requirements
  • Support CEO and Chair with Board of Director and Shareholder meeting preparations, and
maintenance of legal and contractual standards
3) Financing
  • Support the fundraising necessary to ensure the company reaches its full potential
  • Develop and execute the financial strategy to support the R&D and technical development, and business development in close cooperation with company leadership
  • Develop and execute non-dilutive funding strategy and operations
  • Partner with the CTO and CSO to model multiple detailed CAPEX and OPEX scenarios
4) Administration
  • Build and maintain all information and communication technology
  • Oversee purchasing ensuring the timely payment of all liabilities and adherence to the agreed to quarterly and annual budgets
  • Oversee and manage all office space and equipment and ensure all work conditions are present to ensure efficient company operations

5) Talent:
  • Maintain and execute HR personal development and reward framework
  • Support employees in reaching their full potential in any meaningful way
  • Build, grow and manage the company’s Finance and Administration (“F&A”) team
  • Oversee bi-annual evaluations for all F&A staff

Requirements
A CFO candidate must have deep passion for innovation, sustainability and consumer products. An executive who can drive immediate impact and meets the following requirements:
  • 10+ years financial management experience, preferable in high-tech industries
  • 5+ years of business financing experience
  • 5+ years of business operations and administration experience
  • 5+ years of team leadership experience
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in finance, technology, economics or similar
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, fast changing cash-constrained settings
  • Experience in developing partnerships e.g. joint ventures with large industrial corporates
  • Enthusiastic team player, excellent stakeholder management skills, passion for sustainability
  • Broad technical knowledge and capable of switching easily from keeping overview to
  • entering into details; from supervision to hands on troubleshooting
  • Fluent English speaker

Location
The company is based in the South of Limburg. About two hours from Amsterdam. The region is a well-regarded high-tech hub with an impressive startup cluster. The CFO must work in the company offices at least three days a week
